Portable LED Light system for SmartPhone/iPhone Imaging
The system is easy to make and relatively cheap, the most expensive part are the LED lights. The ones I use are $35 per light and I use four lights. The rest of the system costs less than $20. The lights can run off electric cords or batteries. The system is flexible enough that the lights can be used to sort samples when not being used to image specimens. There are a lot of options for LED lights, these appear to provide enough light but you can buy more powerful lights
Parts
1. 4 LED Lights https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L75TMSM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . These lights fit nicely into a 1 inch pvc pipe (or 3/4 in), other lights might work as well or better. Smaller lights would work but make it more cramped.
2. 1 piece of 4 ft of 1 inch pvc pipe (or 3/4 in works)
3. 4 pieces of 1 in pvc 90 Degree elbow connectors (or 3/4 in works)
4. 4 pieces of 1 in pvc T joint connector (or 3/4 in works) and 2 in long bolts for each t joint that threads into a standard camera mounting
5. Gray plastic spray paint (optional)
